The Solar Canopy

An 800W flexible monocrystalline solar array fixed to the upper deck. Provides 4–6 hours of supplementary daytime charging, extending field operation in remote off-grid environments. Self-cleaning hydrophobic coating reduces dust accumulation during dry season.

The RTK-GPS Navigation System

Real-time kinematic GPS receiver with cellular-based correction. Delivers positioning accurate to ±2cm even on non-rectangular African plot geometries that confuse Western precision agriculture systems. Falls back to inertial navigation when cellular signal drops.

The Hot-Swappable Tool Head

The Seed and Spray Hopper

A 120-litre modular hopper mounted behind the drive bay. Open the top-hinged lid, pour the seed, close the lid. The auger feed system meters seed into the planter implement at a rate set via WhatsApp (e.g. "30 seeds per meter"). The same hopper accepts liquid for spray operations, with internal baffles to prevent foaming.

The WhatsApp Interface

Every command is issued through a WhatsApp message in the farmer's language. Examples: "Plant maize 5 acres" / "Weed only" / "Stop." Replies come back as photos, status updates and progress reports. There is no app to download, no tablet to charge, and no English-only menu to navigate.

The Repair-First Chassis

Welded steel frame designed for repair, not for sealing shut. Every body panel attaches with 4–6 bolts. Every electrical connector is a standard agricultural type sourceable across East Africa. No proprietary tools required for any field-serviceable part.

The Safety System

Forward and rear LiDAR for obstacle detection. Emergency stop button on each side of the unit, plus remote kill via WhatsApp. Geofencing keeps the machine inside the registered plot boundary.
